Why Kukkiwon Black Belt Certification Matters

At our school, we are proud to offer official Kukkiwon Black Belt Certification, providing students with credentials that carry global recognition and lifelong value.

The Kukkiwon—known globally as the World Taekwondo Headquarters—sets the official international standards for Taekwondo practice, rank, and testing. Earning an authentic Kukkiwon black belt is a major milestone for any martial artist, offering incredible benefits:

  • Worldwide Recognition: Your rank is officially registered in South Korea and recognized by martial arts schools, instructors, and governing bodies across the globe.

  • Global Mobility and Training: Whether you move, travel, or visit partner dojangs internationally, your black belt status is universally respected, allowing you to seamlessly step onto the mat and train with schools worldwide.

  • Tournament Eligibility: An official Kukkiwon certification is required to participate in most major sanctioned tournaments and high-level competitions.

  • Authenticity and Credibility: It ensures that your training adheres to the highest traditional and technical standards established by the world headquarters of Taekwondo

Our Story

Yong In Taigon Taekwondo: 21 Years in Lake Stevens

Yong In Taigon Taekwondo was founded by Master Santiago, a retired U.S. Army veteran (E7), and Master Kim, a former Korean Tiger and Kukkiwon sponsor. Programs have run in Lake Stevens since 2004, and in June 2024 the school celebrated its 20-year anniversary with families at Lundeen Park.

Today our 6,000 sq ft, air-conditioned school is in Frontier Village. We are proud to be a women-owned and veteran-owned business serving families from Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Marysville, Everett and Granite Falls.

The environment is positive and family oriented: the standards are high, students learn they must work hard to progress, and everyone is part of the family.

Our Mission
